The popular sportscaster took to social media this week to show off a pair of ‘new wheels’ that had been specially made for her child, potentially hinting that he is about to follow the same path as his father

Erin Andrews could hardly contain her excitement after her one-year-old son, Mack, was gifted his first pair of ice skates. The popular sportscaster is married to former NHL star Jarret Stoll and the couple could now be about to see their son follow in his dad’s footsteps.

Andrews, who is yet to resolve her immediate future after seeing her contract with Fox Sports run out at the end of the 2024 NFL season, welcomed Mack via surrogate in July 2023 following a nine-year battle with in vitro fertilization (IVF), leading her and Stoll to take the surrogate route in order to have children.

The arrival of Mack came five years after Andrews and Stoll tied the knot, with the former ice hockey star popping the question in 2016 after four years of dating. A key figure within the sport, Stoll won the revered Stanley Cup twice in 2012 and 2014 with the Los Angeles Kings, and featured for the likes of the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Minnesota Wild.

Now, it appears as though his son is all but set up to follow in his footsteps after Andrews took to Instagram on Monday to show off Mack’s brand new pair of ice skates. “Thank you @bauerhockey for the new wheels. @stolly28 couldn’t wait to lace up Mackey’s 1st skates!” she wrote.

In the brief clip, played to the backing of “Dream On” by Aerosmith, Stoll could be seen unlacing the smart-looking pair of black skates as he prepared to fit them on his son’s feet. Fitted with a clean blue trim and white laces, along with a “Bauer” logo on the side of the shoe as well as the tongue, they certainly looked the part and fans could only imagine what Mack would look like wearing them on the ice.

“Stop it!!! The cutest! And the song in the background!!” one person commented. “And it starts. So cute,” said another. A third person wrote: “Brings back memories…Save those 1st pair of skates! The most adorable part of hockey is when they are so little.” A fourth user added: “That is adorable!”

Along with Mack, Andrews and Stoll also have a Golden Retriever, Howard, to take care of, with the quartet spending most of their time hopping between their homes in Hermosa Beach and Huntington Beach. At the end of last year, 15 months after the sportscaster and her husband welcomed Mack with the help of a surrogate, Andrews revealed that they were considering expanding their famiy.

“We’re talking about trying it again,” she revealed to E! News in October. “And I was really, really honest with my doctor a couple weeks ago. I just said, ‘We’ve had so much high with the birth of Mack and how great he’s doing that I don’t want to go back to that place of failure again, and I’m really, really afraid of it.’”

Andrews’ big reveal came not long before she opened up on how her husband was made to feel uneasy about a specific part of their initial IVF journey, telling Success Magazine in January: “My husband would rather we not be so public – me not be so public,” the veteran reporter said about dealing with crowded waiting rooms.

“He was just like, ‘Why do we have to say this?’ And I said, ‘Because these waiting rooms are packed.’” Speaking on her reason to go public, Andrews added: “I just said, ‘This sucks. This just absolutely sucks! And I am so sick of sticking myself with needles and going in there and having a happy face and not telling anyone about it.’”
