Mike Tyson reportedly offered record-breaking sum to fight Jake Paul again

No matter your thoughts on the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight, it’s clear some people got very rich off the November 15 boxing match.

With Paul reportedly netting $40 million and Tyson landing a cool $20 million, there was also Netflix sitting pretty as some 60 million households tuned in and broke the stream.

The fight between “The Problem Child” and “Iron Mike” doesn’t seem to be going away, and while Jake Paul has retired from influencer boxing to focus on a wholly professional career, he’s not the only one who could be stepping back into the ring.

Despite his impressive legacy, Tyson officially retired from boxing in 2005 and has since returned for a series of exhibition fights to clear his debts.

The last saw him take on Roy Jones Jr. in a 2020 draw, while his fight against Jake Paul was a fully sanctioned bout that drummed up plenty of controversy.

Many were disappointed with the eight-round fight and its various rule changes, with some saying it was ‘sad’ to see the 58-year-old in the ring.

Others want to see if Tyson was just having a bad day, amid numerous calls for him to take on Paul once again and show the YouTuber what the so-called ‘baddest’ man on Earth can really do.

Among those apparently throwing their weight behind a rematch is Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh who runs the country’s General Entertainment Authority.

According to FTTV Boxing: “Turki Alalshikh offers Mike Tyson $700 million to fight Jake Paul and win by 3-minute KO in a rematch.”

Alalshikh reportedly added: “Jake Paul is a joke. I am giving Mike Tyson $700 million if he agrees to fight Jake Paul this time in a real fight and wins by KO in a maximum of 3 minutes.”

Back in November, Jack Lombardi II wrote a similar post X and said: “Saudi billionaire Turki Alalshikh has made a staggering $700 million offer to Mike Tyson, proposing the prize if Tyson agrees to a rematch against Jake Paul and secures a knockout victory within three minutes. Would you tune in?”

If legitimate, Tyson earning $700 million for a single match would break the $275 million Floyd Mayweather reportedly nabbed for the 2017 fight where he knocked out Connor McGregor.

The details of Alalshikh’s offer haven’t been verified, and there’s no news on whether Tyson will accept the offer. Even if he does, who’s to say Jake Paul will want another go?

In the aftermath of the fight, Paul explained: “I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”

“I tried to give the best fight I possibly could but when someone’s just surviving in the ring basically, it’s hard to make it exciting. I couldn’t really get him to engage me or slip shots and do something super cool or whatever.”

Tyson has been relatively quiet since the match, simply saying he was ‘grateful’ for the opportunity to get in the ring ‘one last time’.

That definitely makes it sound like he’s done, but with $700 million potentially up for grabs, it’s quite the golden carrot to lure him back.

Jake Paul has finally responded to claims that his highly anticipated fight against Mike Tyson was rigged.

The record-breaking battle took place on November 15, which saw the YouTuber take victory over the former boxing champion.

The event was held at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, in front of 80,000 fans while 65 million more people streamed it live on Netflix from all around the world.

And while Paul failed to knock out Tyson, his win came down to a unanimous decision.

All three judges scored the fight for Paul, 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.

The 27-year-old landed 78 punches from 278 thrown (28 percent), while Tyson landed just 18 punches from 97 thrown, according to Netflix.

After the fight, fans took to social media to speculate about its legitimacy as some claimed that Tyson seemed to be holding back after getting in some powerful throws.

Now, the YouTuber has slammed the allegations that the fight was rigged.

Former professional boxer Carl Froch also weighed in with his thoughts, even claiming that the contract had banned Tyson from knocking out Paul.

Now, Paul has appeared on an episode of his brother Logan’s podcast, Impaulsive, to set the record straight.

In the video, Logan said: “Some people were disappointed in Mike’s performance. They thought Mike would give more. You see those videos of him going crazy hard on those pads.”

To which Paul responded: “People are like, ‘Oh, it’s rigged because look at him on the pads, but he didn’t do this in the fight’. Because someone is f***ing punching back, you dumb f***s.

“You don’t realize my power, and my speed, and my agility, and my footwork to get out of the way of those punches.”

“All of a sudden he’s throwing at air. He can’t land those punches on me.

“He was hard to hit. He was elusive. I was missing a lot of punches. I don’t know how he gets off to the side like that.”

And apparently the punches that Tyson did land failed to have much impact on the social media influencer.

Paul went on to claim: ““Didn’t feel a thing, to be honest. It didn’t hurt. He didn’t really land anything.”

It isn’t yet known who Paul’s next opponent will be, having previously lost in a head to head battle against Tommy Fury.

Paul said: “I want to be a world champion, that’s my goal.”

Florida man reportedly sues Netflix following Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight

The streaming giant has promised to do better next time

A Florida man is reportedly suing Netflix over the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson stream.

If the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight passed you by, seriously, where have you been? Even before we saw “The Problem Child” take on “Iron Mike”, there had been slaps, trolling, and accusations of fixing, but that’s nothing compared to what came after. With the 27-year-old YouTuber besting the 58-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world based on points, there’s been plenty of uproar.

Still, with viewers amazed that Tyson went all eight rounds, and him already getting plenty of offers to return to the ring, we have a sneaky suspicion this isn’t the end of his boxing career. Well, with him reportedly netting a cool $20 million, we don’t blame him.

The November 15 match didn’t quite go off without a hitch, and while some 60 million households tuned in to watch on Netflix, there were reports of stuttering streams and freezes. The streaming giant has since spoken out about the issues and promised to do better, but apparently, that’s not enough for some.

According to TMZ Sports, a Florida man called Ronald “Blue” Denton is trying to sue Netflix because he struggled to watch the stream. The site claims to have obtained court documents that puts Netflix in the firing line. Presumably because Denton pays a monthly subscription to Netflix, he’d expect some level of service.

Denton apparently says that he faced issues when he tried to tune in at 8pm ET but was “faced with legendary problems, including: no access, streaming glitches, and buffering issues.”

He’s suing Netflix for an unknown amount, citing ‘breach of contract’ and other issues.

Despite Netflix acknowledging the issues, Paul has been taking it in his stride. After the match, he said: “We crashed the site. This is the biggest event.”

It’s been well-documented that there were issues on the night, with Downdetector reporting over 100,000 complaints logged during the fight. In particular, one moment saw the mics of boxing legend Evander Holyfield and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cut off.

There are questions about whether Netflix can get things sorted in time for Christmas, especially as Jones was there to promote the NFL’s partnership with Netflix. There’s a massive double-header coming on December 25, with the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens vs the Houston Texans.

Howard Stern addressed the Paul vs Tyson issues on his radio show and looked ahead to the Christmas cracker: “You know, I don’t how this stuff works, but you gotta make sure it works. … But if you f**k up people’s football, there’s gonna be hell to pay.”

The internet is awash with memes mocking the Netflix situation, but if the Denton case moves forward, it could set an unfortunate precedent for future server struggles.

Jake Paul reveals one regret from Mike Tyson fight

There is one thing the YouTuber wishes had been different

Jake Paul has revealed his one regret from his fight against Mike Tyson.

The YouTuber went head to head with the former boxing champion earlier this month.

The highly anticipated fight at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, was watched in person by 80,000 fans, with 65 million more streaming the action live on Netflix.

Paul came out victorious in the ring and has since shared his one regret from the win.

No, it has got nothing to do with the fact that he failed to achieve a knockout.

Instead, according to him, Paul actually did not want a knockout fight.

After the match, Paul told reporters: “I wanted to give the fans a show. I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”

However, the content creator recently appeared on his brother Logan’s podcast, Impaulsive, to share his thoughts on the fight.

Paul said: “I wish he would have put up a better fight so I could have risen more and done more.

“He was surviving, so that was the only thing I didn’t like.”

The fight was originally due to go ahead in July but had to be postponed when Tyson suffered health issues.

Jake Paul retirement statement issued just weeks after YouTuber’s controversial Mike Tyson fight

Kiss goodbye to your KSI fight

Tom Chapman

Jake “The Problem Child” Paul has made quite a name for himself since he first stepped in the ring to fight Deji Olatunji back in 2018, but now, he’s setting his sights on a very different career path.

Having secured an impressive 11-1 win record, he’s only been bested by Tommy Fury and even has the honor of defeating Mike “Iron Mike” Tyson.

Paul is about as controversial as they come, but alongside his Most Valuable Promotions organization, he’s been praised for bringing new blood to the boxing scene while fighting for equal pay for female boxers.

As the dust settles on the Tyson fight and those complaints it was ‘fixed’ finally seem to die down, Paul is grabbing headlines once again thanks to a divisive ‘retirement’ statement.

Given his winning streak, you’ll be unsurprised that Paul isn’t quitting boxing altogether.

Simply, he’s keeping his eyes on the big leagues. Having come a long way from his Deji fight, Paul has confirmed via the MVP Instagram that he’s stepping away from influencer boxing.

Sharing a post of Paul fighting social media personality AnEsonGib during his January 2020 boxing debut, MVP referred to it as ‘Flashback Friday’ and outlined Paul’s impressive record as an influencer boxer. Saying Jake Paul is the ‘best’ there ever was (and ever will be) in the influencer boxing scene, the account added: “Jake Paul is RETIRED from that sport.

They need him, he doesn’t need them…hence why they said his name 400 times this past week.”

Handing over the title of the GOAT to AnEsonGib, it sounds like Paul won’t be fighting any more influencers.

Thankfully for him, the aftermath of the Tyson fight saw pros like Francis Ngannou, Julio César Chávez Jr, and Artur Beterbiev all step forward as potential competitors.

There’s even been talk of a Tyson rematch, but either way, it sounds like one hotly-anticipated bout won’t be going ahead.

As Deji’s brother, there’s been a long-running feud between Jake and Paul, with the pair blowing plenty of hot air but failing to duke it out in the ring.

With Paul having now retired from influencer boxing, it seemingly closes the door on a fight with KSI. It all sounds a little convenient to us, but looking ahead, Paul plans to drop a few pounds and go for the cruiserweight world title.

It might be best that Paul is trying to get down to cruiserweight level because current IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois has thrown down the gauntlet in a charged interview with the Bricks to Riches podcast. Here, Dubois said: “If Jake wants it with me he can get it. I’m the world champion, I’d be giving him a shot like that. Of course [I’ll knock him out in the first minute] but it’ll be a historic moment wouldn’t it? Like never before.”

Current WBC cruiserweight champion Noel Mikaelian previously said he’d fight Paul if he beat Tyson, promising to ‘go light on him’.

With Jake Paul having bested ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’, let’s see if Mikaelian is next on his hit list.
